There is no statue of limitations.

Have you taken into consideration that if a recall has already been done, it will not show up anymore for the vehicle?

Blue062LT, have your dealership run your VIN.

This is a lot easier than making a phone call or waiting for someone to do it for you https://my.chevrolet.com/recalls

If no recalls are listed it means that none are OUTSTANDING; i.e. already been done or not applicable.

That's mostly the same site the dealer checks, so yeah, run your VIN there

Also to note that the Power Steering assist motor will be replaced free of charge at least once so long as you received the letter about it. I dont believe it was an official recall, though.

It was not but an extended warranty type thing, for as long as you own your HHR!
You have to have the letter from GM and trouble with the ESM

Not that I'm aware of, or at least I don't. I'm logging in elsewhere which shows not only what recalls are open, but what recalls are recorded as "complete" with additional detail.

Extremely rare, but just yesterday had a vehicle come in with an open recall status but records available showing when recall was supposedly completed. Will determine Monday why there is a mistake in records.

That said, my login login ID didn't save on this PC. Can only access from next week. lol.

I am not the first owner, my car had been owned by at least 2 other people before I got it, and was repo'd once too. I had read in the recall threads that a member had an issue after getting the ignition cylinder replaced and his key didn't work in the door...since I've owned my car, the key has not ever worked in the door so I am curious if it was done and the key not matched up to the door.
