GM Recalling 2006-2008 HHR's
#81
When this recall was released I ran all the VIN's on our used car lot and found 3 that needed the recall. I asked the parts manager to order 20 kits (left and right) on that same day knowing the notices would be mailed soon. I am in Dallas and the majority of our parts come from the Fort Worth warehouse, which is 30 miles away.
When he ordered the kits Fort Worth showed to have 1200 in their inventory. Normally if we order on a Tuesday from Fort Worth they come in on Wednesday. Not so with this order. The order was cancelled out of Fort Worth and it took GM 4 working days to get them here from another warehouse.
The first 3 boxes that we opened had 2 left hand (drivers side) pads. After opening all of the boxes we found that 11 of the 20 had left hand only.
I am glad the notices didn't start hitting customer mail boxes until this week or once again a GM screw up would of caused the dealerships to have a lot of unhappy customers. It's apparent that the majority of the users at chevyhhr.net already have a low opinion of dealers and we don't need any of this type of crap to reinforce that opinion.
Of course now we will be opening and checking all of the boxes.
Ok now I have vented and you know what, I feel better.

Who is the primary supplier of the pads, if you know offhand? Just curious, my wife talks about "supplier issues" at Powertrain all the time.

Hey ChevyMgr,
Good pics, but I see only the front doors, are there also EA pieces for the rear door?
Thanks

doh....just read the recall notice..question answered - one piece above driver and passenger side doors.
So now that brings up another question why not EA pieces for rear doors?
