GM MGR you said in one of your post on the Tone Volume control that the new radios did not have that tone control because they were form different vendors.

Could this change in vendors prohibit the addition of XM to the 09 radio?

Just a thought?
No, his car could have been built with XM. It just wasn't and had it been his radio is capable of receiving it since it has the CAT button. He just doesn't have the XM module, per his build sheet.

Really? When I upgraded to the 6 disc changer is what gave me the XM option.

But as prod is listing the options I noticed hes in Canada as well. So it could be a region difference. Sun and Sound Package might have only been available in Canada.

Thanks! Ironically I might have got the silver if I didn't know so many people who already have silver cars.

My first choice was black and when I went to look at one in person, they had a red one as well and man did it look great with the sun beaming on it. My decision changed right at that point.

after not getting anything using the search function Iwent to auido section and wher I got 7 or so pages back I found my answer. part # 17800594 will work it wont say so in gm's parts book but it does . the onstar antenna has to be changed and that requires the headliner coming down. I was going to do the install myself, but am not sure about dropping the headliner, hopefully I will find out about that here too. Oh and thank you chevy mgr for getting me activated. -m-

I have the standard 7-speaker, 1 CD radio and XM was not standard. Fortunately I have the reciever from my other car that I use.
