Bob, I would set up the appointment for after lunch. That way you miss only 1/2 day of work, and miss most of the worst traffic (you may hit some on the way home depending on how quick they can get the car done but it shouldn't be bad). That's how I did it when they installed mine.

ROAD TRIP.
Feel your pain. Looking to do the same thing here. Even with exchange and taxes all in I think I can save a couple hundred off the Canadian price.
Traffic between our homes and there sucks in the morning(south suburbs of Chicago all the way to the north west suburbs). Not fun. Although there would be a lot less traffic for the trip home w/290HP in that scenario.
Traffic does suck. I think I am going to make the appointment for late morning to see if I can miss the morning rush on I-355 and then maybe they will be done by 2pm so I can get back on the road before the evening rush. I was told that the kit should be in within 10 days or so. I can't wait.
