1st Oil Change - Question?

thanks for every one's effort. I'm relatively satisfied that I got the "right stuff" Changing it myself going forward - sort of keen on them doing the first one (although there is no logic to that) and she had to go to have the tire checked anyways, but that was a nail a picked up so wasn't covered under warranty anyways.

Did my first one myself. $45 for oil and FRAM filter. (I really wouldn't trust the Wal Mart filter folks and I own Wal Mart stock)
Didn't know about the bulk Mobil 1 oil.
ramps, 33mm wrench and extension, and catch pan. Dead easy.

I just had my oil changed at a GM dealer. The breakdown of the bill is as follows for a synthetic oil change with Mobil 1 oil.
$8.95-filter
$49.95 for 5L of Mobil 1 oil (no bulk discount for 4L jug)
$12.75-labour
Total of $72.45+tax
Hope that helps. They also typed in font- Mobil Synthetic Oil on the first page.
That way there is no issue re warranty claims in the future- as per Chevy Mgr.
