Actually, they leak when they're brand new. Factory sunroofs are not designed to be watertight.

It's the drain tubes that run down the pillars that may get clogged, and eventually back up into the roof area.

If you maintain a sunroof properly and assure that the ports are clear at the lower end of the tubes, they won't back up.

I have had a few cars with sunroofs and owned them for more than 4 years each (Cadillac and Volkswagen) and have never had a problem with leaks.

I have had 3 GM Sun Roofs and I have a set of 25 year old T tops and to this point never had a leak.

Between newer designs and and a little care sun roof don't leak like they used to.

The drains are almost always thew issue and a couple min once in a while solves the issue.

My question is this: How much space is in the dash storage bin? I have been reluctant to wait for a 2010 model, since they all come with the performance display and not storage bin. However, if it really doesn't hold all that much, I guess I might be making a bigger deal of it than it merits.

Thanks for your input.
I normally have sunglasses, change , box of mints and gum and still has room left. When I use my Garmin, I stick it to the dash disk that can with it mounted to the back wall of the storage area and drive with the lid open. It doesn't obstruct any view out of the windshield. When I arrive, there's room to stow the whole shabag in there. Clean lines and no panel display sticking out the center of the dash. GM should have installed that display on the pillar like they did with the Cobalt SS.

There is no boost gauge on the "pillar" in the 2010.It is in the performance display.I kinda like playing with the display because you can change gauge colors. Also cool that it has a g-force readout for both left and right.

All the display's features are pretty cool, I just don't know why Chevy didn't put it on the pillar like the Cobalt SS instead of taking away useful storage space.

Can you still order the AA5?

Makes me mad about the sunroof. I am about 6'1" and a half, and I prefer an upright driving position but the sunroof takes up too much headroom, like 2 inches!

Wish I would have ordered an '09 exactly the way I wanted it, not the only way they make them now.

Sadly you can no longer order the AA5 option. 2009 was the last year for it!
