Ha! Same exact thing has happened to me twice too and both times they were women. Other than that and a single "I didn't know they made those in an SS!" comment from a young mechanic at a gas station, my car has been pretty much flying under the radar around this neck of the woods.

 

I get my share of nice/positive compliments too. Occasionally someone thinks it's some kind of PT...that doesn't bother me, as a non-enthusiast who isn't really that familiar with either model could easily make that mistake. I've also had people not realize that my car is indeed an HHR, because there aren't that many SSes around. I posted about this in another thread, but one thing I really like about the SS is that looks a good bit different that the other trim levels, with its unique front, side, and rear effects. The PT GTs don't really stand out from Touring and Limited PTs all that much. Although I do like non-SS HHRs, if not for the SS version I never would have bought an HHR.

 

I've gotten quite a few compliments/comments, but more about the color, than the car.
