Anyone Replaced Cooling Fan Assy
#11
cooling fan
I changed mine in about 3 hours. Took longer to drain the radiator and make coffee than the job.
1 - drain the radiator
2- remove the top hose from the fill / cap tube
3- un plug the overflow
4- remove the radiator bolts and "L" brackets - front side of the cross member
5- unplug the fan - find burnt plug on extender/ extension jumper
6- remove the overflow tank
7- tilt the radiator foward
8- carefully pull up the fan assembly (auto zone $89.00)
9- snap in the new fan
10 push the radiator back into position and reinstall the "L" bracket
11- replace the overflow tank, connect the top hose, fill the systenwith dex
12- cut off the plugs to the fan and solder the fan wires, tape or use shrink tubing to protect the joint.
13- get p'ed off beacuse old fan is good and they won't take back electrical parts.
14- sell old fan on FLEE BAY for $40.00 (works good on old cheville)
15- A/C works better and car runs cold again.
