Not trying to hijack this thread, but what is the $95.00 "performance driver seat" option. It's avaiable in stick or auto. Could it maybe NOT have an armrest???

I drove an auto SS with the performace seat, and it did have the arm rest. What I don't understand is that the dealer info mentions a different console for the stick, and that the driver/passenger seats don't match, so why not mention that the armrest is deleted? In my opinion, if I'm cruising on the interstate, I'd like the armrest even if it did make shifting a bit harder, I can put it up. I don't use the one on my Tahoe unless I'm cruising.

PS Can't wait for my SS to get here, the gas savings from not driving the Tahoe are gonna make my payments!

You know looking at the seats, they look the same. I bet if you felt around the spot, you would find the bung for the armrests. Then you just need to purchase some for an auto to match. They should bolt right on. Just a though.....

Had a Cobalt as a rental the other day and it had what appeared to be an identical e-brake lever and the center console had a fold over arm rest built to the console. I am checking salvage yards right now but I think it may be a possible "mod" with a few minor changes. Might take a little cut and paste but I gotta have an armrest with all the interstate travel I do.

I didn't notice when I drove the auto SS, but is the arm rest attached to the seat, or is it a part of the console as mentioned in a small GM blurb I saw somewhere?
