My little 2.2 chirps on a punch with an AT. Love to do it next to all the PT Losers around here. If I chirp and you don't with your SS-better have the Dealer look at it...

Hmmmm. That is not normal at all. Try it again and see if it does it. I light the tires up every time. I hate first gear and should be illegal to or banned from this vehicle. LOL

Temp will not effect this.

I agree I would have it looked at.

Do you by chance have the GM turbo upgrade? Under hard acceleration it can dump the boost if you hit it hard on the gas. The lower map can hit the AC line or compressor if it is not clearanced properly.

Mine would spool to about 7 PSI and die and go no where. I found the Map hitting the AC unit and would short out. Normal driving was uneffected as the engine did not torque back far enough.

If you are stock it may be something else.

I spoke too soon and zissed off mother nature. The last couple days it got down to almost freezing around here, and some white stuff on the higher hills.
High today is 52. This lower air temp makes the SS run harder. Going to the store this morning, saw steady 26 lbs. boost, and lots of wheelspin. Whoya! "Moon"

I can say from my SS when my wastegate failed it caused a smiliar problem, and a few days later my CEL came on.

If I'm not careful I could wear my tires to the rims in about 2 months with the amount of spinning it wants to do upon takeoff. Especially if you are near the large white stop bar on the pavement at an signalized intersection. Those things are like spinning on ice.
