2008 HHR SS Brake Problems

I own a 2008 HHR SS with serious brake issues. GM refuses to admit there is even a problem and sent me off to drive away in an unsafe vehicle. If you are one of the many people having brake problems with your 2008 HHR SS (auto) please contact

Green Welling LLP - National Class Action Attorneys
rsgclasscounsel.com
415-477-6700

They are evaluating the 2008 HHR SS brake issue. They have not yet decided to take the case, but they are gathering information. They need additional information so if you too are experiencing problems with your HHR SS brakes, please contact them and provide them with information. GM needs to fix the problem or work with us in finding a solution, not send us away driving unsafe vehicles. Not everyone is experiencing this problem. If you are not, disregard. If you are, help may be at hand.

The "Onstar"system doesn't see an anti-lock brake failure so why would GM? And yes they did that twice because the first time they did it they told me what they did but they didn't write it in their report! Perhaps you should try to price a vacuum pump, associated wiring and controls then ask why I don't just install it! Try contacting a pontiac or saturn dealer to get parts for a HHR! Or maybe find a salvage unit to rob the parts from! Ask someone with a Soltice or Sky if GM Fixed theirs!
Again, you have not answered the question of whether or not the computer flash fixed the problem. You have answered my question about why you haven't installed a pump yourself if it's that simple. The answer is that it's not as simple as you insisted before, and if the computer flash works then the pump will probably not be fitted to current customer vehicles.

As for class-action lawsuits, good luck. You won't see a dime for a decade. You're better off lemon-lawing the car if they can't fix the problem.

You are not completely accurate about class-actions. GM has settled other class actions relatively quick when they realize that they are at fault and it is a potential safety issue.

1. Name one.

2. Next name the amount of money received by each member.

If ever... try squeezing blood from a turnip

Why would you expect the second time to do anything different than the first? Maybe it's the 7th time that does it. Maybe it's the 33rd. Or... since bits are bits, and there's a checksum at the end of the flash routine to ensure that those bits didn't magically change enroute to their destination, one flash of a particular firmware binary is sufficient.

I want to let you know that the "brake fix" is a flash of GM pulling head out of rectum only to reinsert and deny there is a problem! NO IT AIN'T FIXED and if the response was not GM's stand but that of a lonely engineer they should keep him off the phone! ... If I only knew his wife HA HA HA!!!

Has anyone else used the "LAUNCH" mode? The little rascal will take off in a straight line without the pull to one side fealt in the wheel . I think I'm gonna try it after it sets in parking lot at my dealers for a few hours and see how many cars I can hit! Maybe that will get their attention HA HA!!!

I realize that you're a little fixated on this brake issue (and apparently someone's wife) based on all 7 of your posts to the board being in this thread, but there are a lot of other issues you may want to save your energy for. This one does have a very reasonable interim solution that you can implement without any mechanical experience or tools until GM comes up with a long-term solution. Here it is-- start car. Wait 15 seconds or so. Drive normally. I realize it's not what you want out of your new car, and I realize you want to be mad at GM. Sure... they should have designed it better. But ranting and threatening "class action" suits isn't going to go very far toward an actual solution. As countless others have commented on this topic... GM is aware of the problem, and they are engineering a solution. Make sure you register your complaint with NHTSA, and then try my suggested workaround until there's a real fix. I think you'll be much happier. Unless I misread your comments quoted above, you're threatening someone's wife and to do willful damage to a dealership's property.
