The balancer was a Dorman 594-309 and the crankshaft sprocket was a Duralast S-849 which had the GM number on it (24424758)

The crankshaft sprocket for the timing chain is part number 24424758

It fits the 2.0, 2.2 and 2.4 litre engines

the balance shaft crankshaft chain sprocket is the different one, only fits the 2.0 LNF

I purchased the Cloyes 9-4201SAWP kit that comes with the waterpump. Everything went together smoothly. I was triple checking everything as this was the first time installing a timing chain set.

According to what I see at GM, neither sprocket is specific to the 2.0.

The balance shaft chain crankshaft sprocket in that kit does not fit the 2.0 LNF
in the Cloyes video he mentions that. Please watch it again

I forgot to mention that I reused the balance shaft crank sprocket. That was the GM(55557168) the only gears I used from the kit were the intake and exhaust balance shaft gears.

That’s good information, you reused the OEM sprocket, ok .
can you possibly get a photograph or video of the balancer spinning, to show it’s out ?

Just a thought, are you sure the balancer engaged the oil pump? The flat spots on the oil pump impeller lined up with the flats Jon the balancer?
just checking, it has been mentioned before.

I do have a video but it said the file was not supported. Yes I made certain that the flats on oil pump and balancer aligned.
