Then you won't be able to get it done for free.

I wonder how much that will run? If GM knows this is an issue that could cause safety concerns you would think they would issue a recall.

Had mine in the shop yesterday and today. As I know the folks in the service department, I described the brake problem and they went right to the TSB and ordered the parts (Pump, Etc). I also ordered the stage kit and thought I would have them do both at the same time. I went in to check on progress this morning and the mechanic, which is one of the best at this dealership, insisted that it doesn't need the pump. He says what I was feeling is the ABS coming on when I first try to stop in the morning (something about it bleeding fluid back into the master cylinder). He says he reprogrammed and problem solved. He's now installing the stage kit and hopefully I'll have it back this PM. Can't wait!

I'm about to take the SS in for the brake fix. They don't have the parts, and will have to order them from the U.S. They will call me when they get everything they need to do the job. They told me that it might take two weeks to get the parts from the U.S

on order:

AUXILLIARY VACUUM PUMP FIX

PART#

15797569 PUMP
20815216 BRACKET
20817629 HOSE
19115602 CONNECTOR
88988583 CONNECTOR
20817688 INSULATOR
12177236 RELAY
15319476 FUSE
11518257 CLIP

They told me to figure 4 to 5 hours for them to do the job, as it's the first time they will do this kind of mod on a HHR SS. I have seen by reading this post that there are 13 parts needed for the fix. My dealer only ordered the 9 parts above. Any parts missing?

That's approximately the number that my dealership ordered for my car. The rest are items that they already have at most dealer parts departments. Of course, as I had written they ended up not using any of them on my car at the present. I got the car back this morning, but had to go out of town, and my wife drove it today--so we'll see if it still has any brake issues. (OT) The stage kit makes it run like a scalded dog!!!

Update on my brake issue. Brake problem still there. The mechanic insisted that it didn't need the pump installed, and that the programming would take care of it. Well, looks like there will be another trip back to the dealer! Still have a huge grin from the stage kit install!

If I'm understanding correctly, all future pump installations will be compatible with the Stage 1 kit?
