Hey chooch, just picked mine up last week for bout 30ish (420 a month 0 down, 48 months) but thats stretching things (got an employee discount, msrp was 33105). There is not a high demand for the car but there is a limited supply so you will have a hard time talking down from the sticker price.

As for the options, mine was loaded heres the breakdown:
XM -> $260
Drivers Seat -> $125
Sun & Sound (6 disk, 7 spkr 260w, and sunroof) -> $1980 (-$900 i think at the moment)
Side-Airbags -> $595
LSD -> $645
Cargonet -> $65

And destinations about $1095 (to ontario).

In summary you will probably get them to knock it down to 30000 but don't get your hopes up, its a rare car (only 30 were brought into Ontario and most were ordered for customers). Good Luck getting it for less though!

Hey Cpt. how is it that your payment is so low? When I do the math 48 months at 420 comes to $20000 and change. My HHR price was just over $31000 and with zero down and 60 month payments I'm looking at $580 a month. Something doesn't add up, did you lease?

Makes a lot more sense now, I thought you might have been dealing with a sales manager how wasn't too good with the numbers in which I would like to pay him a visit!

Well Chooch, it looks like your solution is obvious, you have to get a job with General Motors!

I was talking with a dealer yesterday who has Two SS’s and it turns out that not only would I have to pay near full price, get next to nothing for my trade, but I would have to come up with $ 5000.00 CASH as well because I am in a negative equity position. Not going to happen.

I did learn that the only time that the Dealers will give REAL discounts is when they have to purchase last years models from the manufactures at year end, late December or early January.

Chooch, please understand that the dealers and manufactures are in business to make money, not necessarily to make it easy for us to buy. You can shout and scream and call them names all you want (tried that yesterday) but as consumers we have only one choice, to buy or not to buy. Car prices in Canada will not have a major price reduction until ALL car purchasers stop buying, period. Consumer pressure in supply and demand completive market will work, but that is not likely to happen.

Sorry buddy, you have to either bit the bullet and pay the price now or wait for maybe a better deal (like me).

Well, I was getting mine for $31,800, and YES... you can talk them down.

HOWEVER, I do have a problem.

My lease is not breaking on my HHR LT, so I'm posting here to let folks know there is a RED HHR SS 5-speed in Waterloo, ON available at the dealership end of this month.

hhrcrafty asked:
So, how much do cars like the Lancer Evo, Neon SRT, Focus SVT, Civic Si, Mazdaspeed3, and PT GT cost in Canada? -------- lets see what i found ....LANCER GSR from $41,498 LANCER EVO MR starts-$47,498........honda civic si 2dr cpe- starts at $26.680....the 4dr si sdn- $27,000 to start. MAZDA SPEED3 --starts at$31,000 (and with a few options can hit easily up to 36 grand) --- CHRYSLER PT TURBO---starting from about $25,395-27,000 ....dodge neon srt turbo's...ebay has a few 2004s for around $16-17,000...i imagine new they were maybe $23,ooo???? the focus svt was sold in canada at the time when new but i didnt bother to look it up. Now these are the Starting prices of these vehicles...usually with manual transmissions. Add on a few desirable options (if available) like power moonroof, heated seats, and an automatic transmission...easily tack on another 1,000-4-000. -- then taxes...destination, etc etc. I'd prefer to be a vulture and linger a year or so for somebody to sell their pride and joy and they get hit with the usual depreciation.
