The new one, with the same engine as the HHR SS. The major power change was changing from the supercharger to the turbo.

drove a balt ss turbo, no hoodliner there either :)
the car felt slow but I think it had regular in the tanka s there was some knock, but it was boosting to 18, I dont see over 16, not sure if the shorter intake had something to do with it :)
Seats are MUCH better than ours tho!

the other big changes in the Balt ss/tc is the no lift shift, and launch control
No lift shift, means the computer has been configured so the driver can hold the throttle down, and hit the clutch and not lift the throttle while shifting, so they don't lose boost.

the launch control is pretty much a system that allows the the car the best possible launch with out losing traction. It senses when the wheels are spinning, and back the fuel off. not cutting it completely like when you hit your rev limiter, but just enough to get traction and once your on your way its back to normal

The HHR SS has the same feature.

Thats not knock its actually the direct injection it makes the car kind of sound like a a diesel when idling.

So the rhythmic knock on my SS is natural?

Checked it out today, test drove it. Strikingly similar with the obvious differences. Clutch is a little stiffer than the HHR, same old torque steer though. Overall it's a nice car. I think it will do very well.
