Did you test those purge valves? Where they offshore parts?

You likely need the canister and purge valve replaced and blow out the lines.
But how do I do this? Where is it being blown from? The Purge Valve back? and back to where? The Canister? What pressure should I use.
I am learning all this as I go along. Sorry for all the questions.

I did not test the purge valve before replacing.
It was a Duralast part from Autozone and was covered under lifetime warranty so I just replaced it.

I’ve had aftermarket valves go bad after a short time. I tested one brand new out of the box at the AZ counter and I could blow air through it, fail!
I purchased a new purge valve at my local GM dealership, it’s been 3 years now without any problems.

You blow shop air from the purge valve back to the canister.
This is a typical evap system.

I worked on this today and tried the blow test.
It is NOT possible to blow from the purge valve in the engine bay back to the canister. I tried several times. But it is possible to blow from the canister forward to the purge valve; very easily in fact I have NO idea what this means. Should I be able to blow from the purge back to the canister?
Someone please help.

Sounds like a hole in the EVAP tube. Look in front of the driver rear wheel well.
The purge valve is normally closed, so it should be closed when the engine is not running.

You remove the hose at the valve and the canister and you can't get air through it. It's plugged?
The lines is just a tube. Does not matter which end you blow through. If it's plugged you need to replace the line. Never seen one I couldn't blow free with shop air.

The way I read; he blew t=into the purge valve on the engine side and it was closed (good), then he went back to the fuel tank and blew through the purge line and it was open (bad). That means rusted out out purge line.

And note that he is in Long Island, NY where road salt is a big problem.

Sorry if I caused a misunderstanding. I disconnected the tube at the purge valve and then disconnected the other end from the canister valve. While blowing ONLY through the tube itself, I was only able to blow from the back of the tube located under the car towards the front of the tube in the engine bay. It was blocked when blowing through the tub only from the front to the back.

Also as a separate but related question... with the engine running and warm, should there be suction at the purge valve when i disconnect the tube?
