OH, it's a turbo alright - NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!! "Mood Lighting" - that's interesting!! I'll need to check to see if it signals that my headlights are "ON." Since the SS doesn't have window switches in the center, I'll pass on that for my "SS."

There have been a few instances of people badging LTs with SS and selling them as SS, some even changed bumpers. That's what I was getting at.

 

The trick then is to get the Tornado Air? ? Power and Mileage Boost they installed to build boost...

Just had to do that.

Thanks, donbrew - I can say without reservation that my 2008 HHR SS is a truly an SS model... While I appreciate your comments and respect your HHR expertise, I'm "good" with my "new" SS being "born" an SS!!

FYI, I was able to verify today that the small light I asked about previously (the "mood light") does illuminate when the headlights are "ON." And, since it is an SS, there are no window switches on the center console....Thanks...

 

It does illuminate the radio and HVAC controls!

 

My 08 SS has the mood light as well. I've grown used to it.

 

 

I wonder if they were just using up parts. Not needed, but it's already on the headliner for all of the other models.
