Custom exhaust?
Most of the reasons for doing an all out custom one are getting the sound you want or using bigger pipes, plus many times it's cheaper.
from what I've read on here, you won't get any gains from an aftermarket exhaust unless you reprogram the computer. Apparently, and this from the Solstice- Sky GXP guys, the computer just dumbs the engine back to stock power levels whenever any gains from any mod take effect.
I hope I'm wrong about that, but I think that's what they said.

Pull the fuse??????
On our SSR's, if we make an improvement in intake air flow or in the exaust system (there are a number of various exaust system's available for the SSR).....the trick was to pull the fuse on the computer for about 10 mins. Then fire it up and it would adjust to the changes made......In other word's, it would adjust the fuel flow for the in increase in intake flow or reduced back pressure in exaust flow.
