I think duals would be pretty sweet but at the cost of a new bumper or cutting the old one... Doesn't seem worth it. I'd rather have dual tips of of the stock location. I would want one that improves everything that an exhaust system should improve without it sounding like a Honda.

Same difference is pulling the negative battery cable off for a bit. You'll reset the computer and it will relearn what you are doing. Unfortunately, it sounds like GM has really gone the nazi route with the pcm and it will clamp down on new mods. Thank goodness you are going to see reflashes. Mopar isn't as touchy with new mods, but it's taken four years for them to allow anyone (SCT) to get into the pcm programming to make changes. Up until then we had to deal with 3 stage upgrades or go stand alone. You guys are lucky for reflashes so early.

You are also right. I just never bothered with the fuse in my car. Some of my forum budies have even run a kill switch into the cabin so they can reset the pcm from there. Great for racing when the pcm has had time to compromise your power mods.

This is what I did to my wife's Trailblazer SS. As you can see I had the original cut-out filled (and repainted). Then ran the pipes out below the bumper cover. These are the original pics, the tips have since been changes to 4" round chrome w/rolled edges.

I don't think you could do that with an HHR SS because of ground clearance. If you used any decent size tip, they'd be badly scraped over the first speedbump.

Dual exhaust isn't worth it on a four cylinder engine unless you are making HUGE numbers and can't fit large (4"+ piping) or just want the look. 3-3.5" single outlet exhaust will hold as much power as most of our rides will ever see.

If you think most people have duals to make "Hugh" hp .....it's not quite that way anymore......HUGH hp is only made by combinations of modifications......Now days it's mainly the "sound" and the "look" their after and if they pickup a few extra hp so much the better.........Why do you think that everytime someone comes out with a new exaust system for the HHR and or SS people want to hear a sound sample........and see the pics........Sound and look.....seem to be the most important.......hp is secondary...... Making a additional exaust cut out for the HHR/SS is more realistic because of how low the rear facier is on the SS............WW
