I did. It wierded me out so bad, I wont be trying it again. It just seems so unnatural. I also put the car in competition mode and forgot and barked the tires going into second (without trying to). One thing that I am absolutely afraid to do though is try the launch control. Maybe I can go test drive another one and dump the clutch at the 4k rev limit.

and I can already hear the excuses being drummed up by you guys when the cops pull you over...
"but officer, I didn't realize that I had hit the competition mode button by mistake..."
. Something else is the 1st gear. It seems like I dont even get the clutch out all the way before I have to change gears. Im not complaining, its just not something I am accustomed to. It looks awesome. Everybody who thought I
I had the same thing in my Solstice GXP when I first got it. I hit rev limiter
time after time till I finially got the shifting correct.
How does the shifter work. The Asian 5 speed in the GXP is uneven. Sometimes it shifts smootly, sometimes not. I am hoping the Getrag in my
new HHR SS will be better.

To be honest, i cant stop driving it like I stole it. I know that will wear off soon, but its so fun now. It's as if every traffic light is a personal challenge. I know people think im doing the 1/8th with a light countdown.
amount of WOT. I have 3500 miles on my GXP with same motor and get
32 mpg on hwy and even with a fair amount of town driving and hotrodding
i almost never see less than 25-27 average. HHR will not be as good
because car was 300 # more but still I think you will be happy with
the mileage. I have a DashHawk and have done datalogging on air/fuel
and because of the direct injection and the in cylinder cooling that comes from injecting fuel straight into the cylinder, the engine runs lean much more
than a port fuel injected engine. Because of electronic throttle and the way it
is calibrated, the engine acts 'diesel like" in the way it is able to mimic the
unthrottled operation of a diesel that reduces pumping losses and helps
give good mileage.
