It’s new, so it’s gonna have same lifespan as ZZP turbo.
Keep your oil changed and clean. Let it cool down at idle after a drive and it should last a while.

Lots of stories of cheaper aftermarket matching factory specs failing quickly. Member here has rebuilt OEM with success. Maybe m_ridzon?
Quite a few owners use the opportunity to upgrade to a larger quality unit, but that is not a low-budget approach. Much of what I've read was on an HHR SS group on you-know-where. Have you scoured the threads here?

You guys probably remember the sludge inside the valve cover and all over the camshafts. Im guessing the oil lines to the turbo got blocked up? It only seems to spew smoke after boost pulls. Freeway driving seems fine as I'm guessing its cooling the turbo more than city driving.
