Did I ever do something DUMB tonight.....
It's funny you should mention leaving the plug out. I just did that on my SS for the first time in 35 years of changing my own oil. I did realize it just as I started to pour the oil in. Only lost about half a quart, but still felt stupid. As far as a shortage of Mobil 1 goes, I switched all of my vehicles over to Pennzoil Platnium a while back. Easier to find and has a better additive package. And it costs less.
that is the oil I ended up using, it is the 2nd time I used Pennzoil in the SS.
could you enlighten us about it having a better addtive package than Mobil 1?
Always ready to receive new info on products.....thanks.......Tom
When I was on the LS1 web site a while back, one of the guys over there was pretty much the oil guru. He did tons of testing and overall recomended the Pennsoil. I was using Royal Purple at the time and his research convinced me to switch. I now use it in all of my vehicles. I personally haven't noticed any difference between Mobil 1, Royal Purple, Amsoil or Pennsoil. Since the Pennsoil is cheaper and easier to find and seems to perform just as well, then I will stick with it.
