Yea understandable. My situation was a little different. I didn't have a trade and the 2010 I bought only had 1600 miles on it and it was GM certified so there was no need to test it. if there was anything wrong it would've been covered. Good luck man. Hope you find your treasure.

 

One popped up in Michigan which is a bit far but if the dealer is willing to work out everything over the phone it might not be too bad.

2010 5spd Victory Red with only 19K miles on it. I pulled the car fax and it says it was in an accident and towed. Wondering if I should just stay away from this one or not. What do you guys think?

There asking 15,9 for it and NADA says it's worth "Clean" at $16,9 so they have a 1K off list.

After it was wrecked they kept it over a year and a half before getting rid of it so it doesnt look like they dumped it right after, It lists a 2nd owner and then this dealer ended up with it but the dealer is only reporting one owner

That's what i was thinking to but just never seen it done that way on car fax. There was a 1000 mile difference in the ODO from the 2nd owner reported to the Dealer

 

I understand your frustration....I drove from Buffalo to Rochester to buy mine...about 1 hour 20 minutes...I had also waited for one to meet some requirements for me...Under 40k miles, Blue, auto(remote start)...I finally found mine and it was in an accident and repaired...

A quick check on autotrader showed only 4 SS's within 100 miles of your city (macon)...I would only be interested in 2 of them based on miles on the car alone...

My advice to you is to be patient and save up for a bigger down payment on the one you WANT!!! I was "seriously" looking for almost 2 months...

 

My very personal experience is that "GM certified" is a huge pile of steaming hooey. Before I bought my 2008 "certified" I asked why there was no paint on the fender bolts under the hood they said "they are all like that". Turns out after 6 months the Carfux was changed to reflect the near total wreck.

 

I've already saved up about 2K for a down payment. That red one is what I want options wise. Its not the price that concerns me its just that it was in a wreck. Carfax says Moderate which means it had to be towed. I don't like buying a car sight unseen but this would be an 11 hour trek for me one way.

There's none around me with the options/colors I want. This is literally the closest one right now. If I went with an auto I would have plenty to choose from.

 

Expanding out the search a bit I found a black 2010 5spd with 70K miles on it. Much better priced and it says its Certified GM Used.

 

Hold out for what you want. It's not like you are without wheels. If you settle for less you will most likely always regret it. I have both an auto and a 5 speed. I like the 5 speed the best. The 5 speed lets me and the car feel like one!

 

I'm still looking and hunting around.

My first choice would be a red one I think but that black one is sharp and I like that it's certified so you get that extra bit of warranty, The price is good but the only downside I see is it's higher mileage (70k)

The red one is nice but in an accident. I dont know if I want to get someone elses problems if any.

The one I was supposed to go look at this weekend was the one I wanted but it ended up vanishing from the Carmax site. It's possible if it gets to where it's going and doesn't sell it will pop up again.
