Back from Carmax,

Man what an awesome company/dealer to work with. Not only did they give me a whopping $5k more on trade than the regular dealers I'm dropping my payment by at least $80 a month or more depending on if I get their extended warranty.

I went ahead and paid for the transfer of the 2009 SS Auto in Blue Flash Metallic. It has 50K miles on it. He said it should be here in a few days to a week depending on the truck schedules.

I'm debating on getting the car max warranty. This 2009 is out of it's basic and powertrain warranty now because of it's age. The Carmax Warranty is $2K and is bumper to bumper for 5year/125K mile with a $300 deductible if I use it and The cool part is I can take it to my local chevy place. I don't have to drive back up to carmax to get it fixed if something were to go wrong. Even with the warranty my payment still drops $80 a month from what I pay now So I think that's the wise thing to do.

He said once it comes in I get to go check it out and I can still decide to walk away if I want to as well.

sounds like a good deal, seeing as the HHR SS is an 09 and out of GM warranties, 5 years or 125,000 miles for $2K not bad and most likely an asset if it is transferable if you decide to sell the SS during that time and mileage.
Post some picks when you get the SS

Reading this thread I feel like the luckiest guy since I looked for months then found the only 5speed within a few hour drive.

2010 with low miles and as started all the goodies.
Wish it was red though B-)

Good stuff. I see them out there for sale but there all out in the west cost. For the past couple months when one would pop up it would vanish within a couple days of finding and I just couldnt get to it in time. The few I tried for the dealers seriously low balled my trade as well so those fell through.

Carmax was the bomb though. Even though this one is automatic I think Im going to be happier with it in the long run. :)

I guess I was lucky also...

2009, Silver, 5 speed, all options, under 50K, clean carfax...I was finding tons of them and when I bought mine, POOF! I can't any anymore. I check Craigslist local, Texas and LA and nothing! My plan is still to buy a Camaro SS the second half of 2014, so I'll probably list it here here first...

Hey Guys,

Quick question. Right now I'm waiting on the SS to arrive in South Lake and I will be driving up to go check it out and drive it.

Are there any particulars I should look out for? Planning on checking all the buttons/switches etc and making sure everything works. Gonna give it a good run as well.

This will be my first turbo engine so not sure if there are things I can look out for

Thanks guys :)

Congrats!! I bought my 2010 SS from Carmax last spring. I actually had them ship it from North Carolina to Clearwater FL. I specifically wanted the Imperial Blue color with an automatic and the only options in FL were red and black. I did purchase the extended warranty through them just because it is a turbo and had 47K on the odo when I purchased it. Once I took delivery of the car, I did have to bring it back for a couple of minor things which they took care of immediately. I would deal with Carmax again based on my experience.

When you get your SS look into changing the top motor mount, there are threads here about it. I just did mine at 51K and what a HUGE difference. I also added a rear sway bar, both purchased from Turbo Tech Racing. Big improvements for a low cost.....

Best of luck to you!

Thanks Mad,

This blue one i'm looking at is coming from Clearwater. He said it can take up to 14 days but I am sooooo anxious i hope it gets here quickly LOL

If everything goes well on this one I think the first thing is going to be tinting the windows and hopefully get some kind of alarm for it.
