Getting a little discouraged...
I can sympathize with you anxiousness. I never bought a car sight unseen until this one. Too bad I didn't read this thread earlier or I could have checked it out for you. The Carmax in Clearwater is right down the street from where I work. They do a good job going through the car before you buy it. If it needs anything they will make it right.
You should only have to tint the front windows as the others already have factory dark tint on them. I just swapped out my tail lights for the Bermuda Black LEDs and am getting ready to swap out the headlights for the ones that have a black bezel. I will also be adding an HID kit at that time. There are lots of nice little mods for the SS that allow you to personalize it.

Sweet yeah I cant wait to see what all is out there for them
I do think I'll just match the privacy glass then and get a strip on the front windshield first thing.
Need to see what kind of alarms are out there. Would like to have one work with the remote start and maybe roll windows up/down

One thing to check would be to see if the previous owner had purchased the GM turbo upgrade. If so, that would b a huge bonus. 60HP and 30TQ power increS from stock form. Easiest way to tell if it is indeed equipped with the GMTU would be to pop the hood and look at the upper TMAP sensor. If it has a blue label like the picture shows then it's got the goods. If it's all black then it is stock. Could also have an aftermarket tune which means it would probably boost in the ~20ish psi area. Stock is around ~15psi.

I would take the car for a loooong test drive just to make sure the car feels right.

Ohh cool thanks for that info. I had some images of the engine bay but not at an angle to see if that was on there or not. I'll be sure to look it over thoroughly.
I got the email from carmax about the transfer and it sounds like it's on it's way here

there should also be stickers on the inside hood and fuel door if it has the gm upgrade.
wait till you try the launch control! tire spinning fun! when you drive it or get it push the traction button on the dash twice, once turns off the traction control and the second push turns on the "competitive mode" and "launch control"
hold the brake, push the gas, let it build some boost, let off the brake and hold on to the wheel!!! really cool stock feature on these beasts!!
also if there is any aftermarket tune on it most likely it will be connected to this button as well, or the cruise button on the steering wheel. gm upgrade will boost 20ish, stock 15ish, trifecta or HP upwards 25ish or more. if you hit the button and get a lot more boost then it has some sort of tune on it as well

Awesome :)
What gas octane do you run on it if its just stock? Is it still best to only use premium fuel?
Ohh and another quick question. Is there a way to get the sound like turbos with blow off valves have? I've always loved that sound and I understand these have BPVs correct? Do the BPV's still make that kind of sound when shifting?
Thanks

Carmax called me today and said the SS arrived at SouthLake today around 2pm! They said they would do their inspection and emissions on it and it will be ready for me to come check it out. He said hopefully by tomorrow it will be ready for me. I'm hoping they call this evening or first thing in the morning so I can zip up there. I work from 12p-9p and I could make it there and back if I get up early and head up and drive back before work :)
Glad to see someone scooped this thing up. I saw it on CarMax. Being that clearwater is only an hour or so away I almost went to test drive it. I checked two days later and it was gone... hahaha d#*n you! That color is the best too btw. Good luck with the new ride!
