Going to sell my '08 SS sadly... Have a few questions though!

I see both sides of buying a car with some mods.

On the positive side, if they're mods the buyer was thinking of doing they'd probably appreciate the work already been done and it's an expense they wouldn't have to plan for but would pay a bit more than one without the mods.

On the negative side they might not (1) be informed or care about mods or (2) like me, don't know enough about what mods are good/bad and just how well those mods were done - maybe thinking of unnecessary expenses finding someone to diagnose any problems or (3) they just want a stock SS because they look better (in their opinion) than a non-SS HHR.

I just bought mine (2008 SS) a couple of months ago and paid $12,500 for it off a dealer in Texas. But, I was looking for a very specific HHR; Victory Red SS, automatic, 6-CD changer, all black interior (as opposed to the red/black), and as stock as possible. While I like performance, I don't drive mine that much or 'with spirit' so mods weren't particularly important to me.

I'd guestimate a fair price would be in the $13-$16K range. Sunburst Orange is a neat color and probably pretty unique as well in an SS. That'll both hurt it with some but may boost its potential to others looking for something that stands out.

Well, we had a change of plans. My wife's car was totaled in an accident (wife was fine with no injuries), so we no longer need to sell the HHR. Hopefully, I'll get to enjoy this car for quite some time longer!

Thanks to everyone for your input!

What's the saying? If you have to ask, then you cannot afford it!

Lol, We're keeping the car and thankfully everyone was fine from the accident.

Glad to hear your spousal unit is in good shape.

Crummy way to get to keep the hot rod, but at least you get to keep it.
