Note the speed is deceptive. The suspension is tuned so well you often are much faster than it feels.

My first drive I was shocked to see I was at 90 MPH on a back road where it just felt like 50 MPH.

The GM tune can be installed by any GM dealer. Any GM dealer can do the flash.

Again the stock tune is ok but the GM tune makes it a totally different car.

I've owed my automatic for just over 15 months and still get a smile on my face every morning.

Almost forgot to include this little tidbit. If the dealer gives it a tank of non-premium and lets it sit for a while, performance may be down somewhat. Mine improved considerably after a fresh tank of premium and the occasional misfire CEL went away for good. I know mine sat on the lot for a while as I waited the dealer out on the price I wanted.

So I got into an argument with the wife today because she doesn't wan tme getting a manual.. She said that if she needed to use the car she wouldn't be able to.. When I told her I would teach her that this car is extremley easy to drive and the manual shifts really easily she said umm no I'm not goign to learn to drive a manual.. I asked her why and she wouldn't give me an answer.. The thing is if i'm getting a performance car of any type and they offer it with a manual i'm not even thinking twice... Nto sure why she won't let me teach her.. She wants me to give alittle because i'm getting the SS.. I told her it would take me ten minutes to teach you and in thirty min of driving it will become second nature.. WHo knows any ideas fellas

Dude, been there. Happy wife, happy life. That's why I have an auto. Go try one if you haven't already. You'll see they aren't so bad.

You might be able to teach her the basics of driving a stick in ten minutes.

But it takes time to learn how to drive one correctly and competently, in the meantime you have to weigh your potential disappointment over driving an automatic with the cost of a new clutch or two.

I love my HHR SS its a bone stock(so far) I was determined to get a wrx sti the salesman kept telling me I need to check out this HHR SS my wife had been wanting a HHR I think there ugly (just my opinion don't beat me up) I was on my way to finance when I saw this beautiful silver little car and had to go look the salesman gave me the I told you so then I had to drive it, I loved it 10,000 cheaper and just as fun I gave up 30 hp and 330 lbs to the STI im not sure but I bet the power to weight ratio is very close leads me to believe you drove a bum car man try another.

I will just teach her.. You are right to drive a stick competently takes time and I guess for me its second nature but I will be driving this car 95% of the time.. Then she tries to pull this crap with manuals are not luxury.. I guess her dad told her that, how could you ever be bothered to shift your own gears.. To me its like the people that buy a Corvette or any other sports car and get an Auto.. Never could understand it. Even when I lived in NoVA and the traffic was horrible all the time I still would never want an Auto over a Manual.. Even when my clutch leg got tired in traffic..
