got car,with problems help!!!
got the car tonight, but a little pissed and unhappy. i got to the dealer and he tells me i have a check engine light. he states it was because the gas cap was loose when he got it from another dealer. well the car goes into "limp mode". what i mean by that the turbo won't spool. if i cut the car off and restart it, it boost again, but check engine is still. onstar says the car is in learn mode and should go off in about 2-3 days. if not,to take take it back to the dealer. anyone have this problem???

The CEL going off for a loose cap can be legit, but usually it doesn't take that long to reset itself. I would be cautious if I where you. Everything could be okay, but still. See how it does the rest of the week.

yeah, seems like they would be able to fix the problem before they give it to you.
i know i wouldn't be leaving the lot with a new car with the check engine light on...
last time i did something similar to that i had my jimmy in to the shop to get the intake gasket replaced. so i get it back and go out and start it, check engine light, so i go back in, they say something might have tripped when they worked on it, so they go out and reset it, and turn it back on, bam, engine light. so they say, drive it around and see if it goes off. so i drive home, 3 blocks, look under the car, coolant pouring out. back we go. they say something broke that held a tube somewhere, all set. off i go, looks good, few hours later, start it up and look under the car, bam pouring out again, back i go.... wasn't a happy guy.
so sorry for the tangent, but yeah i'd be back at the dealer tomorrow, playing it nice and if they don't seem to be going anywhere with it, then you click in to rage mode.

It can be the gas cap issue. I had a similar problem on my S-10 Extreme years ago. They ran the trouble code and found it to be the gas cap, actually a sensor in the tank. This is a common problem for chevys. Just give it a few days to relearn everything.
