I don't know what you're talking about.
On the road where I live (in Middletown), Delaware is just 11.6 miles from the Delaware River on the east edge to the DE/MD border. Forget about DRIVING it; I can pedal my Cannondale "across the state" in about 45 minutes (and often do).

You can actually drive the entire length of Delaware (north to south) in just over two hours.

There's a lot of charm in living in a small state. Not to mention one with no sales tax.

Then why did it take over 4 hours just to get out the Dover parking lot.......... (pre 1 exit)

On our side of the border, we have 2 sales tax. Federal and provincial. The provincial tax is applied to the sum of the car + federal tax. So we actually have to pay tax on the tax...

Ah...I should re-state my point on sales tax. There is no sales tax on general purchases in Delaware (electronics, groceries, meals/dining, clothing, general good, etc.)...but the state does collect sales tax on vehicle purchases. It was 2.75% for many years, but it just increased; I believe it's about 3.5 percent now.

But wow...paying tax on the tax? Sounds like liberals have ruined your country, too.

Example of my Canadian HHR SS window sticker price= $32605.00

+ $100.00 (Excise tax on Air Conditioning)
+ $1400.00 (Shipping charges + dealer prep)

Total: $34105.00

$34105.00 X 1.05 = $1705.25 tax for the federal government (5%)

$35810.25 X 1.075 = $2685.75 tax for the provincial government (7.5%)

Total:

$38496.02

Taz, congratulations on your new HHR SS. I'm a recent owner, as well. I'm very familiar with Delaware - I spend alot of time at Dupont (Chesnut Run Facility) calibrating some instruments.

People who live in Delaware are very happy.

...happy they don't live over the bridge in New Jersey!

Taxes are DESTROYING the Garden State. I can't wait to get out of here.

Good luck, and enjoy your new hot rod!
