The same day you post about your new SS is the same day you crash into fire hydrant/tree and you post about it on the same day? jeez... bad luck!

What a super-disappointment! Hopefully the insurance co will provide at least a margin of compensation.

If it's close to being totalled... you may want them to total it. Unless the repairs are done right, it may never be the same. Good luck with the situation.

Sorry for the happy/sad day. Luckily the weather tech digi-fit all weather mats I use have a hole that secures to the floor where your factory mat does so it doesn't slip. I'm surprised yours didn't have this.

Not to sound rude, but if they total it out, why not buy it back? If it's THAT bad, you might make the $ back by parting it out on here. Without seeing any pictures I've no clue how bad the damage is, but you can turn a crappy situation into a decent one. That's what I did when I got hit by a drunk driver in my heavily modded Neon. I got it fixed (the repair was $200 shy of getting it totaled) and it just wasn't running right after that. I parted the car out on the Neon forum and made enough to put a hefty down payment on my SS, get the GM upgrade and also the Hahn exhaust... just my .02.

Later
