It's just that what he posted, just doesn't make any sense at all..
Maybe I have watched too many episodes of CSI...
We're all good and I agree. CSI, never watched that show except for the time they did the show about a murder at the MGM Grand Las Vegas. The scene was in an area we do work which is the large by huge stage/gantry.

I don't think you understand the transmission was completely tore down to where it looked like scrap metal . And he's not just a guy he's one of my best friends and he recommended that I should get one with less miles to tinker with but I'm hard headed he did this for a favor to me it took him many hours. Like I said in the op this car is my toy its not my DD so if something does screw up I'm not really hurting. As for where I bought it the guy sold it to me for 1800 because he wanted the money. He was getting a divorce and his soon to be ex wife was going to make him sell it and give her half so just to screw with her he sold it to me for that price. As for the PCM I never had a problem with it thats a head scratcher I guess I could ask him if he already re-tuned it thats a good possibility since he would know that, that is required. Like I said he's been doing this stuff for a long time he owns the Chevy garage here in town and he has a few highly modified drag cars.
Oh no, not the "he had to sell it and give the money to his future ex-wife" story!
Usually that only happens with highly desirable cars like a "55 Chevy" that turns out to be a mint original 'Vette.
And it is almost always only $100 or $1,000

I've lived on this Earth for 65 years, & for the life of me, & just really don't understand this sentence...

Are you saying that for whatever reason, that you have always wanted a 4.11 for years...

So you got this buggy that has a quarter of a million miles on it, & told someone that you always wanted a 4.11, & had this person design, engineer & machine a totally one off custom pair of gears, that had to be installed in a transmission that had to be removed, & completely taken apart, to install this gearset...

Ok, I'm out of this thread, peace/out...

There are 4 of us working on this thing. There’s me I know nothing about cars, but I have the equipment and knowledge on how to use it. Then there’s dale he owns the Chevy garage and has been a mechanic for decades. His son Casey went to college with me at Tennessee tech for automotive engineering and finally there’s Dillon that has robotics engineering. I don’t understand why you guys think it can’t be done lmao how do you think Chevy did it to begin with 😂

Wait a minute. You went to Tennessee Tech for Automotive Engineering, but you "know nothing about cars?"

Ummm ... ok.

There is SOOOOO much face-palm in here.

Who cares what your gear ratio is? Your motor NEEDS to support it. It is a vehicle. Some dream number is a crack head's school of performance. You might blow your motor, or be dog-ass slow. The number has no meaning...

This is the dumbest thing I have heard this year. And, you have a big lead over the rest...

And with all of that, I think we can just close this thread.

I kinda had the impression this thread was not going to do well at the onset.

I have an idea of turning my old HHR (which I don't own any more) and turning it into a floating replica of the Queen Elizabeth. Any suggestions?
