I've seen all of 3 SS in the 2.5 years since I got mine. Surprisingly, one was a panel like mine.

Just saw a Red SS near Livermore driving eastbound 580. I got off on my exit and he kept going towards Tracy

For the first time ever, I saw two in the same day, aside from mine. Saw a black SS pull in behind me at the Sonic near the Menlo Park mall, then passed a red one about 20 minutes later, going the other direction on route 202 around Branchburg.

I haven't had the pleasure of seeing one in the wild yet and I'm looking all the time. It's strange, because I see every other car in the world in Hollyweird...Bugattis, Enzos, Lotuss, Porsche Carrera GTs, Austin Martin DBSs, Maseratis, Teslas, you name it. Haven't seen a 2012 Melkus RS2000 yet, but I really want to. After all, you know how we feel about high output turbo 4-bangers. ;-)

I see them pretty often but my question is how many SS do you see in good shape anymore. Too often the ones I see are getting pretty beat up.

Often dirty with damaged wheels and chipped up bumpers and hoods.

The other guy at work is the only other one I see often clean here other than mine.

I saw one a while back on the used car lot and they wanted $18k for it but the thing was beat to death.

It actually bums me out...I pull up next to yet another beat-up, neglected-looking SS, and I can see its driver look over at my ride and thinking "Damn, that's a nice-looking SS, so clean!"...I can tell from their expressions. And all I can think is "Damn, will you clean that *&($#@ thing already?!" Just sad, because I can tell they don't care, to let their SSes get like that...not everyone is as into their cars as we are, but at least take care of what you've got just a little...

I got mine a few months ago. It is not perfect but its mine now. It has many miles with a prior owner. There is a little rash on some of the rims. There are a few chips on the very front of the hood and bumper. There is a small crack in the fascia in front of the IC. When clean, none of these blemishes are readily visible. Rims and fascia I can replace. I'll need to evaluate the hood and decide what to do. The one SS I saw looked just fine. I hope they saw mine and thought the same.

What kills me is when I see a newer one with less miles than mine in such beat shape. Mine is a daily driver winter/summer and while I have a few marks mine looks showroom new compared to how beat some are.
