Why not a floor mounted one? One that bolts to the floor around the rear cup holder (still making it functional) and come forward at a high enough level to still be able to place drinks and use the e-brake. Even better would be if it tilted up and had room for storage... I understand that there is not much room there but I owned a Jetta, and the width between the seats is the same, but the Jetta had a reasonable armrest...(I already understand about the placement of the shifter with the SS)

I would think that this design would be mostly useful.

I know that they have aftermarket arm rests for the Mini Cooper that work the same way and bolt to the floor near the passenger's feet without being in the way.

...just an idea.

Ummm you bought a SPORTS CAR, HINT THE SS BADGE.... Whats next heated cup houlders and auto-polit... Come on people this is just silly. It would be the same to buy a vette and then complain about gas milage...
Hahaha and sorry for you having an SS, I would easily trade you for my LS 5-speed that has armrests, wich never get used, hahahaa.

My SS is a daily driver and I assure you that regardless of what you say, YOU do not have to feel the wrath of my wife when we are riding around and SHE does not have an armrest. I am fine with the setup, it's the passenger that I am thinking about.

Hey, when she's happy we are all happy!!!

I've got about 1K miles on mine and I already miss having an armrest. They should have one on the passenger seat.

Strange, my Audi S4 seems to be fairly sporty AND it has an armrest.

In Theory Thats Is, Hahahaaa. It Just Seems Like There Are Alot Of New HHR/SS Ownser With Alot Of Complaints Out There. Its Pretty Lame To Read All The Threads With People Complaining About A Brand New Car, And an SS At That... Ive Been Doing My Research On The HHR/SS For Months, Tested A Few Of Them Auto And Stick And I Just Cant See What The Big Deal Is, Its Like People Woke Up And There Is A Car In There Driveway With A Million Issues That Were Not There When They Drove The Car Off The Lot... I Did My Homework For More Than A Year Before I Bought My Cobalt SS... I Found Reviews About How Stiff The Seats Were, How Noisy The SC Is, Poor Gas Milage, Bad Vis With The High Wing, Ect Ect Ect. When I Finally Drove My SS Home I Knew Excactly What I Had, And I Sure Didnt Hit The Forums To Complain About My New Purchase. Do People Even Do Research Before They Buy Cars Any More. We All Have The Internet And We All Have The Money To Spend On Cars, It Just Seems Like People Would Do A Little More Before They Lay Down 20+K On A Set Of Wheels... Im Not Trying To *****, But Im Tierd Already Of SS Owners And There Complaints...
Be Lucky You Are In The Spot Where You Can Say "I Drive An SS". Not Everyone In Life Will Have The Chance To Own An SS.
This Is My SS The Day I Drove Her Home. Still To Date, No Complaints, And I Still Feel Blessed, To Say I Drive An SS!
