I just checked chevy.com-there are no other incentives at the moment. However, when this sale ends, there is bound to be the usual.

That's what I was waiting for. I thought the rebates were suspended during the 0% financing. I was also wondering if it were more difficult to negotiate price when they were offering the 0% financing. I may go the route of GMS, or I may try to negotiate down near invoice price and use my $800+ on GM credit card. For the SS I want, the GMS only saves me about $1K off MSRP.

You cannot get the rebate AND the 0% for 72 months. You give up ALL rebates for the special financing unless your GMS like me and I get about $2200 off and the 0%.

There is also NO lowering of the GMS prices. Those are set by GM and non-negotiable.

You can get $2500 rebate, your GMS price but the interest rate is 5.9% for 72 months and that rate will kill you.

I printed out the GMS and it only discounted me $1000 off MSRP. This is the GM Supplier discount you are referring to, correct?

MSRP: $25,635

Supplier Price: $24,654

There seems to be some confusion in the terms used in the GM discounts....

GMS IS THE EMPLOYEE PRICING.....NOT the Supplier pricing. GMS incentives are currently $2500 off OR 0% financing, until July 7th, for ALL models of the HHR.

SUPPLIER PRICING is a different price than EMPLOYEE (GMS) usually 5% OVER GMS....which would be something like $1000.

I'm looking to buy in early August, and I would assume the 2009 HHR will be on the lots by then. I will likely buy an 2008 HHR SS outright, or finance a small portion of it through my own bank, so I was not interested in the 0% financing they just offered.

I know I am taking somewhat of a risk, because as time goes on the 2008 stock is dwindling, and I may not be able to get the exact model I want. If they enact some decent rebates after today, I might take the plunge sooner than August.

BTW - I have done so much research on cars in the past few months. I cannot find any vehicle other than the HHR SS that meets my requirements of price, features, speed, MPG, sportiness, and cool factor. All other vehicles fall short in one or more of those categories. So by process of elimination, the SS will be my next vehicle.

Why would you not want to finance something at 0% intrest. Keep your money and invest it in something that is going to make you money. Cars are not investments they are necessities that depreciate everyday. If your have a majority of the money to pay cash for the car finance it and talk to a financial advisor. That HHR SS will be worth 10k in 3 years so your just throwing your money out the door.

Can you get 0% for less than 72 months, or do you have to get a 6-year loan?

I figured as much, but for some reason their ads do not say that.

why not get it for 72 and then pay it off early if you want. You are paying $0 interest so it makes no sense to not go 72 now and then just pay it off early if you want. There is no penalty.
