Is it just my area or are SS prices going up?

I was lucky when I was able to get out of my SS. Even though it's an SS, most dealers don't see that as a plus. I did some shopping before I finally got rid of my SS. I had offers ranging from 13-19K, depending on, which vehicle I was looking at. When I finally bought my Lightning, I had them pay it off and cut 2k off their asking price, which was 14,200. I couldn't complain at that point. They also added the 3 year Ford ESP warranty for free. So, I slashed my monthly payment by $95, my insurance by half (because my insurance doesn't know what a Lightning is but they they know what a SS is), have a 3 year warranty, and the vehicle is faster stock. BTW, I have canceled the 3 year warranty and recieved a nice sized check for the unused portion. The savings are going towards a built long block and bigger blower. Since it is a weekend toy now, I'm glad I jumped ship before I lost money. I'm not saying the SS isn't a bad vehicle but it wasn't for me at this time.
