Why do it if the ECU dumbs the engine back to stock HP levels?

It's not worth it imho.
Completely agree. Oil analysis has consistently shown the AIR filters to be total crap. They result in high silicon which translates to higher iron, copper, and lead wear in the engine. One other area they contribute to is higher than normal aromatics which quickly breaks down oil. These filters load up quickly with dirt and become a restriction resulting in increased cleaning cycles which further degrades the filter. Its a vicious cycle that just gets worse and causes more problems.

Now, the oil filters are a different story. They are second best right behind the Amsoil EaO nano filters.

Ya, the more i think about it, based on what i hear regarding the bad things of K&N air filters (will still prob use their oil filters tho ) i thinking on passing on going the K&N route, and stick with Fram/Wix/ or whoever (anyone hear of Fram's "Airhog" line being made for the 2.0?).

Also, anyone hear of K&N's response to claims of their filters yuckin up MAF's or stuff like that?
I know Chevrolet has taken a stand against them with a few TSB's. CEL's and MAF codes with "oil type air filter installed" customer pays type stuff.

Some MAF's are easier to foul then others.

I've had a K&N filter on the Z28 from the get go and no problems. Others also have no problems. The HP back to normal tells me until you can tune it, don't mod it yet.
