Looking to Purchase an SS
Thanks for the warm welcome.
OK, the trifecta sounds incredible. I would guess that this voids the warranty, right?
Also, trying to learn the terminology - is GMS1 and GMTU the same thing? I read the GMTU thread and the plug-n-play kit sounds better than splicing. Is this the new kit that the dealerships order today? I want to make sure I order the right thing for the turbo upgrade. I have been on this forum for hours everyday since I discovered it, so much to read!!!
Thx for your help everyone.

GMS1 and GMTU refer to the same thing. The "correct" term for anal guys like me is GMTU (GM Turbo Upgrade)
. The GMS1 or GM Stage 1 kit applies more to the Cobalt SS as they got several kit 'stages' for the SUPERCHARGED Cobalt SS, hence the confusion lol. Definitely get the plug n play kit as that can eliminate 99% of the headaches that many of us have gone through with the spliced design, I truly wish they had that when I had my GMTU done! As with any sight unseen purchase, get a Carfax to make sure the car's got a good history, and as far as the cost of the GMTU: installed it shouldn't run more than $680-$720 ($450ish for the kit and 1-2 hr's labor charge to install), depending on the dealer's knowledge of the install.
