Made up my mind - the search for an SS is on!
Hi all - looking to get into a new SS and found this site. Looks chock-full of good info! I stopped to see one (an auto ) at a local dealer and I was hooked! It looked so good in black. Now I just need to find one, either black or red, with a manual. Of course, the "find a Chevy" option will not let me open the window sticker so I can't tell who has one around here.
Anyway, I am looking at the HHR since I recently had to get rid of a certain sweet little German coupe, as the newly required baby seat does not fit in the back... Well, that and I was afraid of my nose becoming permanently angled up like most of the other folks in the local ***** owner's club.
I'm sure I will have plenty of other questions for you all, but I will be happy to contribute as well; I've modded and built a wide variety of vehicles in my day, and this one will be no exception. Of course, it helps living right down the street from Hahn Racecraft, and knowing them from back in Len Ayala 10 sec. Neon days!
Here's a little PhotoPainting I did earlier to keep myself motivated. Nothing helps the look like a nice slam and some decent-sized rubber, eh?

welcome to the site! that's a nice pic, slammed just right.
Good luck finding a manual in your area, they're as rare as hen's teeth. All of them in my area are autos...
more profit margin in the automatics? or maybe GM's afraid of ppl blowing up the m5 tranny with the no lift shift feature, dunno. at any rate, the stick is extremely hard to find on a dealer lot.

Hey Mifunego Can you do a PhotoPainting of the HHR-SS with the rear quarter panel delete (AA5 option) ?
Need to convince Chevy/GM there are a lot of potential buyers that want a HHR-SS that way.

Pardon the hack job - it's late and I'm not feeling all that creative.
No need to be about the name, Old SS Man... think '60s car heros (well, the cartoon ones anyway) and you'll get it!
