I mentioned earlier I think yeah the two front ones actually WERE grinding on the rotors, I was asking about them because I've read on here that the spacers are supposed to be a certain thickness, and if these aren't the original ones then maybe theyre not performing job they were created for

The 3 mm thick spacers are for the SS model with Brembo brake calipers.
These spacers you have are a guard for the ABS wires , yours can simply be bent back as shown in that photo I posted.

They were added to the HHR to prevent water getting into the electricals. They are actually splash guards, I'm not sure if the spacer function is necessary. The earliest models did not have them, then a full shield was used then the smaller one with the tab.

Yes, you could just bolt on the hub and eliminate the shield.

Thanks guys

About the screechers on the pads, the screechers themselves actually make it so you can only put them on one way, they hit the bracket if they are oriented anyway but having the screecher on the inside (against piston) lower area, if this is wrong or maybe the wrong pads are on let me know, unfortunately for me last night when lowering the car it, or the jack, slid and it came down radiator first on the jack gonna order a new one here in a sec. Plastic area is leaking on one side at the bottom by the drain pet****, I pried all the tabs up and took the plastic tank off and it is fine, somewhere near the pet**** is just leaking like crazy, even after a thicc gasket maker bead so the aluminum must be FUBARED somewhere I can't see. Pet**** valve cap snapped off too.

side question, how would I find out what maintenance has been done on the car? The old owner sold his house, moved and changed his number

So there is a normal splash guard (like most vehicles have) for this car? Then they went to the smaller ones with tabs? What would you recommend

If the service was done at a shop that reports to CarFax the report would show it. If ut was done at a GM dealer any GM dealer service dept could tell you.

They were not on my 2011. They were a TSB on 2009-2007.
