My '08 HHR SS just turned....
40K and is my DD. GM tune still strong. New brakes, new battery and new rubber is all that's been required to change so far. Of course all maintenance was performed in a timely manners. Not a bit of rust and body has no dents(disabled parking spots saved it). I bought this in Feb/08 with my GM discount and I'm struggling to sell it and get a '19 Caddy XT5 or keep it and get an '19 XT5. Any way I'm going to look how GM improved the XT5 compared to the '18 model. I think the front end looks like the new Chevy front ends. Irks me a bit.

Well, I changed the turbo today, everything went well until. I put it all back together and started it, then I heard a spraying sound. I never tightened the top banjo bolt on the turbo. Either the return or the feed line? Well, it idled out about 3.5 quarts of oil on to the floor, in about 25 seconds maybe less. Anyway, tighten that up, took for a test drive after changing what was left of the oil. The car ran better than it has for a years. Brought it home and cleaned the oil off with simple green and a garden hose. Drove the car to gas station, and guess what? No more boost? What went wrong? Took the intake and exhaust off the turbo, it’s all clean the turbo still spins and feels tight, didn’t make any noises like my old one when it failed. Could the water have done something? I let it cool for a while, it wasnt hot to the touch. I don’t have a clue how to diagnose this, but I can get it back out of the car in 45 minutes max! Cleaned all of the bolts and used anti-seize on them!
