And yes the ss badges held on tight. Im thinkin if they total it I will steal that one.
We were really lucky, someone was watchin out for us that day.
Well it is hard to tell if it is totaled till they get it appart. If the unibody is pretty intact they may fix it.

As for driving the same.....If it is repair properly it should drive fine. Most good body shops can restore a car to proper form with little issue.

It will not be impossible to sell but you will see a drop in value because of the crash report.

The insurance company will try to pay you a lump sum just to sign that you are will to accept a settlement and not take this to court. Often this can reach into several thousand dollars just to get you to not take legal action. Many times in a crash like this it is more than enough to take care of any depreciation you may have later. Use car in what they offer and make them give you more than one offer. Don't take the first one unless it is crazy.

I don't feel anyone should rip an isurance company but I consider the depreciation a loss because of the crash.

The real key is get the shop you want for repair and since it is new make sure to get all new parts and nothing less.

Mine was damaged in the crash after 3 days and I got the dealer to repair it to my satisfaction. I have high standards and if they met mine they would meet most others.

Also any repair was done by the dealer so it did not effect my warranty in any way.

You just need to let them get it appart and let the appraiser look at it. They will let you know what they want to do. Don't be affraid of a repair but do keep on them to use the shop you want as it is your right and use nothing but new parts and nothing less.

Been through this and my dealers body shop was the best. They made sure it was repaired to better than new. I have no issue with mine and have no regrets it was not totalled.

Good reaction on your part, i assume you swerved to avoid a head on. Thank God.
If you sell it after the insurance co totals it, let me know. I can use a parts car. Good luck with what ever happens.

If they don't total it check on loss of value, a car fax will show that it was wrecked....mine got hit 3 months ago....they still can't make the door line up correct

HAPPY YA"LL ARE IN GOOD SHAPE!!!!

Loss of value is good but very difficult to get in most states.

It is much easier to hold out signing off on not going to court witht he insurance company and let them offer youy enough to cover depreciation.

Some states value loss is easier. Check into it and see what you best options are. Just don.t sign anything till you feel you are fairly treated.

With not serious injury the money paid will really help cover the depreciations vs medical.

BDSSHHR,

Glad to hear that you guys are OK. I just did a search the other day and I found something like 12 new HHR SS within 150 miles of the Detroit area. Good luck. G.B.
