My new 09 SS

Hey guys, long time troll finally took an SS home! Best deal in 250 miles panned out, of course it was 240 miles away.

2009 HHR SS
52k 5 Speed
LSD,Brembos
Bluetooth, sunroof

Paid $10,900 for it!!
and the car I was trading was my old taurus they had agreed to trade it for $3300 without seeing the car (it books for like $4-4500 in good condition but it was a pos!)

Last night my girl drove it to go vacuum it at the local wash, hit a curb and blew a tire and destroy the wheel! At 8PM I found a friend with a shop, got him to open up and went through his tire pile, found a decent 225/45/17 BMW runflat hahah! through it on for the trade, and they never noticed! (rest of the tires were 245-45-17)

pin stripe is kinda cool, i like it for now.

First mod was tearing that airbox cover off before i left the dealership! As soon as I get tax money im doing everything at once.

Used Dejon piping with HKS SQV4
ZZP intercooler
ZZP intake
Any brand downpipe
muffler delete
3 bar map sensors
tune

One thing I really dont like about the car driving it home is the shifter, I feel like its not necessarily sloppy but it has the same feel that my girls fathers saturn Ion did. I need to swap it out asap, short throw weighted/countersunk nob for sure!! Excited to finally be a part of the HHR fam! Been modding LNF's for a bit, I helped my sisters boyfriend do MPX intercooler, dp, catback, 3 bar maps, typhoon intake and tune made 294/354 on 23-24 psi. Car pulls awesome! Hoping to have the same soon!

Wanted coilovers but honestly its already pretty low, i figured it had to have springs but they appear stock. Don't think I want ot go much lower maybe SSC. Front bumper is already jacked from previous owner, at least someone swapped moog endlinks so I wont have to cut those off when I do the springs. Ive done spring installs on 3 cobalts now, and 2 mechanics and myself couldnt get the stock endlinks to not spin removing them so we just cut them. Moog's have that nice safety/holding bolt in place.

Congrats on your new ride!

Just watch out for curbs, their favorite snacks are alloy rims and low profile rubber.
