Does anyone have past experience with a dealer actually bringing in a new car for them, from out of Province? Seems to me like there's no way they'd entertain that.

Likely not in that case that far away.

They will do it and pass that cost on to you if its not that far away.

A dealer was willing to bring in an HHR SS for me in Calgary from Cranbrook (the dealer I bouhgt from does not allow dealer trades or transfer requests from any oher delaer in the city, only one in Edmonton, or maybe Vancouver, but then the cost (about $1200-1500 from Vancouver) gets directly passed on to me.

Congrats on scoring the one you wanted! When I got mine, it was hard to find the trim/colour/etc that I wanted here in Vancouver, so I understand the frustration! And it's much nicer than the Optra eh? That was the car I had before the HHR also

I'll join in on the fun. Picked up my Black SS on Saturday, Ebony interior ( I would have liked Gray) Manual Trans, Limited Slip, Sunroof, Side Airbags, 6 CD, 7 Speaker. I have a 84 mile round trip to work and back 5 days a week. Even if I can only get 28 MPG I'll save about $50 a week over my 2500HD Diesel, (it gets 20 MPG) but at .80 more a gallon I'm saving money.

MSRP was $25,425 I Paid $23825 and had $2500 in rebates. I thought $1600 off MSRP and $2500 in incentives was a good deal.

I'm really enjoying it but I still miss my 67 SS Camaro.

Some pics of it last weekend, just home from the dealer.

Still only 350km on it (and a bit dirtier!) as of today, but still excited to look in the garage and seeing it sit there, and thinking of an excuse to go for a drive!

Because of road rash from the transport truck on the tailgate, in a few weeks I have a complete going over of the vehcile at the dealer (with the UV light) and they'll fix that and any other chips.

At that point I am going to get the paint protection pakcage and rust proofing I paid for in the deal, and have thought about maybe getting the undercoating now too, after the fact, after reading some more about that here, and, the fact our winters are harsh and we plan to have this car for as long as she goes. After that, they will put on the the clear vinyl protectant for the front end.

I assume this company that the dealer goes through should have the proper cut outs for the SS front end...anyone had issue with that as opposed to the kit for a Non SS?

Anyways, I figure since the dealer will have it for a few days to do all that (and I get a loaner), I will get the first oil change too at that time, to get any filings out of the oil.

As for mods, some little apperance things I guess. The stub attenna in the front (I was thinking just like the Onstar one in the back should work), and the dealer through in a bumper cover (its for the regular hhr) to put on the back (we occasionaly have the dogs in the HHR, don't need them scratching the top of the bumper on the jump up).

Also got some ideas from here on changing emblems. A glove box script ("Turbocharged" "SS" or "Super Sport", as well as "Chevrolet" '57 door scripts.
The ones on the doors can stay, but thinking of remvoing the back "SS-Turbocharged" moving that to the glove box, and putting a 1968 Chevelle "Super Sport" script in its place, or, the 1967 Chevlle block letter "Super Sport" script that has the "S" highlighted. The first choice seems to be a bit better size wise (smaller) but I like the highlighted "S"'s in the latter choice...but it may be too big.

Anyways, fun stuff I can thinking about with a bit more...after years of leasing, finally nice to have something I can highly personalize! And having a place like this I can get those ideas churning!

Anyways, here it is:
