Generally, as I found out with the GMP S/C in my Vibe, you have to have the dealer install it or basically anything drive-train related will be void of warranty. I snapped a rod and they would not cover it.

Yes GM in past kits has made it clear it needs to be dealer installed if you want the warranty.

It is the only way they can be sure someone did not monkey something up. Why should they pay for someone elses mistakes.
