No-lift shift

No-lift shift is awesome :)

I tried it for the first time tonight - I messed it up a couple of times, until I was able to force myself to keep my root foot planted on the accelerator while I shifted.

But when you get it right... POW POW POW SCREEEEECH as the next gear hooks up almost instantly, and the car lunges ahead between shifts. It definitely feels quicker than shifting normally and sounds great

Do you maintain full boost during this type of shifting like an automatic would? Or does your boost drop each time?

The first and second time I tried it, the car fell flat on its face for about half a second before it actually picked up RPM's again. Not sure why. Did that on launch control trying to launch too. Not sure why this is happening.

While I didn't have a chance to check the boost gauge while shifting (too focused on not lifting my right foot), it definitely feels like boost is maintained between shifts. There is absolutely no hesitation or bog when the next gear engages. GM claims the no-lift shift saves 0.07 seconds per shift, but it actually feels like a lot more than that to me, at least a few tenths.

I think you have to be right at redline but before the rev limiter kicks in, and make sure the gas is completely floored. The timing can be pretty tricky especially for the 1-2 shift because 1st gear seems to hit redline in under a second!
