Official Gas Mileage Thread

Took the SS from Buffalo to lancaster, PA. Dropped the speed down to 71 and averaged 31mpg. 80=26 mpg, so did 60 so I guess that @ 70 is ideal. Ran a tank of Hi-test at 3.81 a gallon. Wow what fun but I wouldn't try to figure gas milage, I was having too much fun finding the firewall.

The hhr can get between 40mpg at 55mph all the way down to 25mpg or below at 80mph.
70mph is optimal if you need to get somwhere 15% faster than 60mph, however you will lose MORE than 15% in fuel economy :)

My mileage has gone up considerably since hitting the 2000 mile mark. Not sure if it is the car having been broken in, or if my driving style and conditions have changed much.
But I get 25.5 mpg in mostly highway/stop and go driving. I used to get 22 mpg in similar conditions.

10K and some change currently.
Most of my driving is 60 and the rest is 70-75 (2 hrs roundtrip for work) and my DIC average right now is 28mpg.
On a different road that what i normally travel, if i set the cruise @ 58 mph i can get 38 mpg (both directions, so it's fairly level )
Do not notice a difference with /without A/C ,unless i get up near 80mph (Then MPG drops quite a bit)
Average MPG has dropped a bit since new but only .5 or so, to what i mostly stay at now, 28.0 .
But along with others have said here, it's lots better than my mostly parked '03 Silverado used ta get

My first long drive was 75 highway miles on mostly flat stretches. I achieved 34.3 mpg for that trip. The return trip I achieved 31.7.
I know use the car for commuting back and forth to work in stop and go traffic and I get between 25-28 mpg.
2008 HHR SS 5-speed.

15,000 miles and counting! I have seen as low as 19MPG and as high as 30-31 average about 24-25.......I really like the sound of the air sucking into the intake! and that slightly audible whoosh, from the turbo.....needless to say, my foot doesn't stay in one place very long!

Ive got about 8000 miles, i average 23-25 all the time but i stay in the city, i took a trip last week and saw 29-31 over a 300 mile trip. i avg 65-75 on the highway on the trip. im overall happy with it, even if i keep my foot in it and it goes down to like 20-22mpg im still happy to get that.
