Oil Free Drop in 2008 SS Airfilter?

Any OIL FREE DROP IN performance filters out there for a 2008 SS? I see 2009 AFE Prodry but Autoanything tells me the 2009 filter won't fit my 2008 airbox.

Thanks

If I'm not mistaken, Spectre makes a bunch of air filters that are oil free...the one I had was blue and was very similar to stock...but be warned, some people have issues with anything but the old oem paper filter

Thx for the tip. I'd rather stick with stock and not be bothered with codes.

But, now i've found out one torx head is rounded off so I have to try to get a bit to back it out and replace it.

Yea like half of mine were stripped when I first changed my air filter....I replaced all of them with some phillips screws from the hardware store

Did you match up the threads or know what the spacing is or no? If not, have you noticed the bolts getting looser from stripping the threads on the airbox?

I've had my '08 SS for three months now. One of the Torx heads was stripped out also. Couldn't figure how in hell somebody could strip a Torx head in plastic! Anyway, I found that a ¼" lag bolt, 7/16 hex head, fits almost exactly. Didn't find any that was shorter than one inch though.

Ended up using #12 1-1/4" sheet metal screws with counter sink washers replacing airbox torx bolts. They were tight the first time but tighten down well and I removed them and reinstalled and the tightened down perfect again so the thread hold is great.
