I saw you mentioned powerslot brakes, drilled and slotted
I highly recommend NOT using drilled and just use slotted. the rotors on these cars are already too small, unless you have the brembo option, and drilled rotors do nothing to help braking, just takes surface area away for braking! and they will warp quicker. I personally just did my brakes with the poweslot slotted rotors and pads for just under $160 and I am very happy with them. I also painted the calipers and top hats on the rotors just for some extra bling! very easy job to do on these cars I might add....
also check your fuel door and under the hood for the GM turbo upgrade, or see if you have the blue bosch sensors up front by the air box. if not get it tuned and go drive it!!

As to your comment about the GM turbo upgrade: what are you referring to and what should I be looking for? where is the blue Bosch sensor? Anyone have pics of what I should be seeing (or not seeing) in the fuel door or by the air box? I would be interested to confirm or deny this upgrade in my car.
Thanks!

Welcome to the site!! double check those brakes the SS non Brembo rotors will be 296 MM in diameter and sometimes these sites have a sale and sell you the LS /LT 276 MM rotors, just so's you know that!!

sorry was not trying to start a debate on the brakes, no offense! I see it as its your car and you will do what you want, just offering up my 2 cents!
if you have the blue sensor in the pic then you have the upgrade, there are also stickers from the factory they put on the fuel door. means you got about 290 HP now!! BUT the trade off is premium only fuel!

I checked the sensor last night. Definitely not a Bosch. I saw GM stamped in it. Also, it has 3 wires coming out of the sensor. The pic looks like 4. I have a sticker on the fuel door that says "premium fuel recommended" (not required). So, I believe I have the 260hp version.

Regarding the fuel pump: My HHR SS has not had any issues, but my previous 09 Cobalt SS had a disasterous problem. The low pressure pump in the fuel tank injested its "sock" filter and fragments ripped off and were sucked into the fuel lines, then the high pressure pump, then the fuel injectors. The car went into "reduced power" mode and then stopped altogether. Had it towed to the Chevy dealership where I worked. It was under warranty at the time, but they had to replace both fuel pumps, flush the fuel lines and replace the fuel rail and all injectors. About $3000 is what they submitted to GM and it took 2 weeks for all the parts to arrive. Don't know if it is common or not.
