proud to own an SS!!
don't know why,but it has taken me 3 years to REALLY love my ss lol. looking at cars that is out now, they really don't compare when speaking hp to dollar ratio. the genesis coupe, turbo or v6 can't touch the ss in performance. sorry, mazada speed might be lighter, but still can't out run me mod for mod. even some awd wagons are pooh. can't believe i'm saying this, but the caliber srt comes close or in some cases might surpass the ss. guess i'm just happy that more mods are available now and the look on peoples face when i easily pull away from them
.
since the ss has come out, no 4 cyclinder car has come out with a better hp to dollar ratio than the ss (hhr or cobalt). the evo and sti are nice, but after the awd sucks down the hp they are right there with us and with a 10k + price tag more. so far out of all cars i have owned, even the turbo charged ones, this has been the best as to getting the hp up easily and safely.

I so agree with you dude. Best looking wagon out there. The Caliber srt4 is nice as well, but to bad if you wanted an automatic. Trust Dodge to only offer 5 speed for a car that probably would have sold more. Anyway, our cars are rare for sure. I live in Manitoba, Canada, and I'm the only one with an SS. There are two for sale at a local dealership and have been sitting there for six months, cause of to many kilometres and of course the price. I plan on keeping mine for 8 to ten years. Cheers Mightymouse!
By the way, my folks love your state and should probably be visiting next year.

I loved mine from the minute I test-drove it. What took you so long mightymouse?
It is a great canvas to paint on...you can go hot rod or retro and get equally wonderful results. Of all the cars I've owned, this has been my favorite.

I'm very proud to be an SS owner. But it seems that when I mention it like now, I can expect a flurry of PM's informing me that my SS 427 with its 385 tire shredding horsepower is not a "real" SS. Funny but it seems real enough to me, especially when I punch it and that L-36 7 liter V-8 makes the scenery all blurry.
I want to go for a ride in your SS Mikie. My boss is always building one of those ground pounders out in the shop, love the way the building moves when you start them. This year he found a nice 56 just stuck the motor in it so it's coming along, they take a little more time than the overhaulin guys.
Do you need some more SS's to stick on it I took mine off.

Thanks for the offer of some spare "SS's" Sam, but they were very sparing on the 427's and its a 100 point car, so no mods. The monster hasn't left the garage for nearly two months now, just too busy and too hot to properly enjoy all the goodness of the old beast.
Anytime you find yourself in my neck of the woods you're more than welcome to go for a ride, and if you promise not to go "mental" with all the power under that hood, you can take the wheel for a spell.
In this month's Automobile Magazine one of their columnists borrows a 427 powered Vette for a road rally, his description of the sound is spot on, a mixture of "The Industrial Revolution and Thunder".

Good Lord willin I get down there, sure appreciate the invite, same to you if you get close, lets burn some cow, and you can take mine for a spin it may not set off the earth quake detection system at Mt. St. Hellens and the U of W but it does make you wonder how they do that with a dinky 4 banger.
