Rear Bumper Protector ???
I put the bumper protector on my SS and hated it. It didn't cover enough area to "protect" anything, and broke up the styling of the rear end in a way I didn't like.
Short people, of which I am one: When getting out, pivot left, legs forward, slide. I never hit the skirts.

I tried and found the lip was in the way of the bumper protector. Other SS guys claim it works. Personally I want something that covers the whole lip of the bumper so I"m thinking of getting that side rail step padding by 3M. Somewhere here is a post from someone that did it.

It is not like you will step on it. For the most it is there to cover the paint where it would get scratched.
Mine has saved my paint already many times every time I load the Soap Box Derby car in the SS.

Could always run some invisigard paint protection film on the top. 2 pieces, divided by the crease in the bumper
